Snubber Lines

Snubber lines are designed to reduce peak loads and absorb dynamic forces during mooring. They help smooth out sudden movements caused by swell, wash, wind shifts and tidal changes, improving comfort on board and reducing stress on deck hardware and primary mooring lines.

Controlled shock absorption

In superyacht operations, load management is essential. A correctly specified snubber line provides a controlled level of elongation and energy absorption, limiting shock loads and contributing to safer, quieter and more stable mooring conditions.

Our snubber line solutions

Rigg & Moor supplies snubber lines selected for strength, durability and predictable behaviour under load. We offer solutions that cover different mooring profiles, from high-load applications with minimal elongation to configurations where controlled stretch and handling comfort are required.

MegaTwin Flex based snubber lines

For applications where a balance of strength and controlled elongation is required, our snubber lines can be based on MegaTwin Flex. This construction combines a high-strength core with a durable cover, delivering reliable shock absorption and comfortable handling for professional crew operations.

  • Controlled elongation for effective shock absorption
  • Durable cover for long service life in demanding environments
  • Comfortable handling and reliable performance in daily use
  • Suitable for repeated berthing and variable load conditions

DynaOne based snubber lines

For high-load snubber applications where maximum strength and low weight are key, our solutions can be based on DynaOne. This Dyneema line offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and compact diameters, supporting efficient handling and precise load control.

  • High strength with minimal weight and reduced diameter
  • Precise load behaviour for demanding mooring profiles
  • Suitable for professional superyacht operations
  • Excellent durability when specified with appropriate protection

Supplied to specification

All snubber lines are supplied to specification. Length, diameter, construction and finishing are tailored to the yacht, deck layout and typical berth conditions. Spliced terminations and optional chafe protection are produced to professional standards to ensure safe and consistent use.

  • Custom lengths and diameters
  • Professionally spliced terminations
  • Optional chafe protection in high-wear areas
  • Clear identification for onboard line management
